Questions about ACT?
We got you.

→ Is ACT just another type of talk therapy?
Not exactly. ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) combines mindfulness, behavior change, and values-based work. It’s not about challenging thoughts like in CBT; it’s about noticing and making space for them.

→ Will ACT help me get rid of anxiety or painful thoughts?
The goal of ACT isn’t to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, but to change your relationship with them. You’ll learn how to respond to distress in more flexible, values-driven ways to regain control in your life.

→ Is ACT only for certain conditions?
No. ACT is evidence-based for a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD, chronic pain, and more.

→ How is ACT different from mindfulness or meditation?
ACT uses mindfulness skills, but within a therapy framework. You will  learn to be present, and how to take purposeful action even when things feel hard.
